WHERE TO SUP: There are many different locations around the islands to SUP, each one offers different conditions. Please be careful when choosing where to SUP because some places are off-limits or have advanced conditions. Also keep in mind that we live on a small island, so beware of offshore winds or you might get blown out to sea.
SUP SAFE: Always get a lesson before attempting any new watersport. SUP with a buddy, Avoid crowds, Beware of offshore winds, always use a Board leash! and never SUP farther out than you can swim.
SUP GEAR: SUP boards are bigger than surfboards for stability. Take care when carrying SUP boards and always use good lifting skills (use your legs to lift not your back), better yet to have your buddy help you carry your board. Most SUP boards have a carry handle to help you carry them. Be careful in the wind as they can catch the wind and blow around. To find out about which SUP board is right for you go to our SUP Board Guide page
SUP CARE: Take care crossing streets in traffic, and be especially careful when loading them onto and off your car. Do not tie down any boards with rope, it damages the board, use a proper flat webbing tie-down strap. Make sure the vent plug is securely in the board before entering the water. Rinse the board and the paddle in fresh water after using it. To learn more about caring for your SUP board click here for More…
