Surf Club Maui is a locally owned, family-run surf school with over 30 years of experience. We offer daily surfing lessons and stand-up paddle board (SUP) tours led by experienced instructors. Our programs include multi-day surf courses, equipment rentals, surfaris, and kids’ camps. Lessons take place at one of Maui’s best beginner surf breaks in beautiful Kihei, South Maui. We’re passionate about teaching ocean sports, supporting our community, protecting the environment, and sharing the joy of surfing with families, kids, and adaptive athletes.

  Great beginner surf lesson!
Surf Club Maui did a great job!!! We signed our kids (14 and 12) up for a group lesson during our time in Kihei. The area where they provided the lessons is very beginner friendly. Their instructor (Pablo) was very kind and patient. They both had the opportunity to stand up and ride plenty of beginners waves. We enjoyed watching from the shallow water. All in all it was a great family morning on our trip.

  Fun and professional surf lessons
The instructors were friendly and professional, they had me standing up and riding the wave in no time.My first booking, the weather wasn't so good, but instead of taking the cash and providing a poor experience, they rebooked me for the next day.I had so much fun, I booked a second session two days later!Highly recommended!

  Awesome surf lesson!
We had our 2 children ages 10 & 12 take a lesson at the 8am time slot and it was awesome. Everyone was very friendly, helpful and easy going at check in. The kids were put in a group with one other family (6 total) and the instruction from Brian was fantastic. They both loved it- caught so many waves. 2 hours was a perfect way to learn. We hung out watching from the beach benches. The location is on a great break for beginners and right across from Kihei Caffe for a post surf breakfast.

  Fantastic group of teachers and staff
My daughter and I took beginners lessons, they were so great with all the kids there. Super encouraging, patient and so much fun she had an amazing time. She cant wakt to go agian. All the staff were helpful and so easy going. We will be back on our next trip. Mahalo

  Excellent Day of Surfing
We had a fabulous day learning to surf with Pedro! He and the team genuinely seemed to care about us being able to learn and stand up, and we all did! The excellent photographers placed in the water made the experience even better. Highly recommend!!

  DO IT!!!
OMG this was one of the BEST activities I have ever done! My daughter and I were first time paddle boarders. Our instructor Bryan was AWESOME. He was patient, helpful and full of great stories! He also helped us feel very safe and let us try things at our own comfort level. While we were out we saw turtles and spinner dolphins! One of the other team there came out and took a bunch of pictures of use out on the water. They were great and we bought them all! Such an epic adventure - we are already planning our next experience with Bryan and Surf Club Maui!

  Great day on the water.
Had an amazing experience with Surf Club Maui. I took a private lesson, which was great - I got to ride a lot of waves and received a lot of help. It was a wonderful experience. The group lessons also seemed to have a great time. They give you a rash guard and swim shoes (its rocky, so you need them). Everyone was nice and helpful. You can also purchase a photo package, which allowed me to capture some nice photos of my time on the waves.

  Highly recommend this surf lesson.
Great experience! Instructor Brian , I believe, was awesome and we got up and surfed a lot. Everything was provided which was a tremendous help since we are from Nashville.

  Amazing Experience!

  Supportive and comfortable for environment!!
The crew was so amazing and supportive, with pre session tips on the beach to helping me be able to get on the board for my first wave! I would recommend to anyone looking to learn.
