Learn to Surf in Maui

We have lessons for everyone: groups, private, and semi-private sessions, and lessons for kids. BEGINNER SURF LESSON:

The Beginner Surf Lesson is two hours long. This is our most popular single-day surf lesson. It’s ideal for first-time surfers or someone who has taken one or two lessons. This is also a great refresher class. We guarantee that you will have fun learning to surf in this class! Don’t worry if you are a slow learner or an athlete, because we pace this surf lesson for each student’s needs. Our friendly surfing instructors help you to enjoy the surfing experience. No experience is required, all participants must be comfortable ocean swimmers.

We always have small group sizes to ensure that each student gets plenty of attention. You get a choice of surfboards that are stable and easy to ride. The water is warm, usually averaging around 78 degrees (25.5 C), and the waves are fun and inviting. We supply all your gear: surfboards, water shoes, and an SPF 50 lycra shirt to wear. Just bring your bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, and something to drink. We run these classes six days a week. *Minimum age for mixed-adult classes is 11 years old. Children 8 to 11 years old must book a semi-private lesson, and kids under 8 must book a private lesson.

Start time: 8 a.m., 10 a.m., (and 12 p.m. if conditions allow).

INTERMEDIATE LESSONS:

In this group surfing lesson, you learn how to catch more waves, read the waves, and ride more waves. This lesson includes surfing down the line, turning, and trimming. There is always more to learn. We supply the wave action and surfing instruction; you supply the attitude. This is a great follow-up class for someone with a few of our Beginner Surf Lessons under their belt, or for the self-taught surfer.

Surfing with an instructor is safe and rewarding, especially when you are surfing new locations for the first time. Basic long surfboards are included in the class. However, you are welcome to bring along your own surfboard, or you can rent a specialty board from the shop at a discount with the lesson.

PRIVATE SURFING LESSONS:

If you want some personalized surfing instruction, we have private lessons available. This is a great way to learn at your own pace. Our experienced instructors spend their time with you and work on what you want. Go slow, cruise, and have a relaxing session, or get right into the action and charge; it is totally up to you. This lesson is two hours long. All equipment is provided.

These private classes are suitable for all ages 6 and up. No experience is required, all participants must be comfortable ocean swimmers. Call ahead or book online to make a reservation.

We have a 24-hour cancellation policy for all activities. Photos of your surfing session are available on request (for an additional fee).
